Spreepicky Review

Hi everyone (^ - ^)/
My order from Spreepicky just arrived so I thought I'd do a review for you guys. I was put off from ordering from Spreepicky because of their prices and being a student I don't have a lot of money. But since it was Christmas I decided to treat myself, they had a discount code for the holidays which saved me a lot at the end of my order which was nice. In the end it was also worth it because they make some of the clothes themselves which is handy for me since I'm plus sized, and shipping was free!

My initial thoughts when I unpacked everything was "wow it's so colourful" most of the items look so much prettier in real life. And I noticed that Spreepicky put some really cute hair accesories and other little freebies, the also sent me a cute little sailormoon postcard inside too :3

The first item I'm going to talk about is Princess-Misery design gravity falls fleece jumper, here are the photos:

The fit is quite good, the arms could be a little looser but it fits nicely enough. The inside is really warm and soft, the best thing is that the quality of the print on the fabric is really good, there's lots of cute details in the design. And it's super colourful! I love it so much

Another item I purchased was this Chibi moon jumper, I'd seen them on ebay for super cheap but I could never find my size. Luckily Spreepicky manufactures their own larger sized version so I could get the jumper that I wanted so bad. It's really nice and soff inside and the fit is really good, although I feel like it looks a little awkward on me because I have wide hips, so the jumper is a bit too tight on my hips. But it's still a comfortable size.

The third item I'm reviewing is this custom made high waist sailor dress, I just thought it was so cute so I ordered it in pink. They don't have any photos of the pink one on their site though, so I used the blue photo. It's quite a nice pink, and it fits perfectly! It is made qith really good quality fabric and stitching which I was rather surprised by to be honest. I read other peoples reviews and they often complained that it was too short, for me I didn't feel as though it was too short but that's probably because I ordered a bigger size, my height is 168cm and it comes to above the knee, about mid thigh.

The Fetsu Chan shirt has a very nice design, although it is my least favourite of the items, if you buy the large size the print covers less of the shirt, and the design was a little pixelated although I do not mind that so much. It kind of adds to the style. I had to buy the mens size because  I was afraid that the womens size would not be big enough, if you are curvy or don't mind clothes tailor for men then it's absolutely fine though. It looks like something that is really easy to coordinate for fairykei, decora or just casually.

The last thing I purchased was this denim dress, It's the only thing I got that wasn't pink hahaha. I decided to get it because it's so difficult to find denim clothes in large sizes. This fits great and I'm quite excited to figure out how I will wear it.

Overall I thought that Spreepicky was great, the total cost of my order was $149.21USD or £101.23 and the shipping was free as I mentioned before, it arrived after about a week to arrived after it shipped out which is really fast. Although it took about a week after I ordered for my order to be dispatched, this didn't really bother me because delivery was quick anyway and some of the items were custom made. And it was super cute that they sent me a sailormoon postcard and hair accessories.

So I give Spreepicky 10/10

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope it was useful for you if you were looking for cute clothes and good quality,

Bye

Making the most out of a scam - Lolita coat makeover

Hi everyone,
I made the mistake of buying a lolita coat on ebay without researching it thoroughly. When the dress arrived to me it was totally different from the coat I thought it was going to be, I was so disappointed. I'm usually very careful about what I buy and I've never been scammed before.

This is what I ordered:

And this is what they sent me:

As you can see from the photos the dress I paid £82 for was a really bad copy of what I realised (after much reasearch) was actually an Angelic pretty design. They used the cheapest materials they could find and the sizing was really bad even though I gave them my measurements. By the way, I didn't know I was buying a fake because the seller used a photo of the real item.

Anyway, I discovered that it was an Angelic pretty coat from 2007 so I guessed it was rare AND EXPENSIVE. And I found the real thing but it was tiny. So luckily I managed to get most of my money back from that ebay seller, I looked for heart buttons, lace and faux sheep wool/fur fabric that wasn't such bad quality. Glad that I can sew because I was able to fix the sizing, I brought in the waist and chest area as well as reducing the sleeve width. This require me to basically take the whole thing apart with a seam ripper, to get under the lining.

Here are the buttons I bought, they were from seller: belloandbellisimo on ebay, I paid £1.98 + £1.60 postage for 10 of them. They are about 2.5cm which is roughly the same size as the buttons on the coat.

This is the lace that I ordered, I paid £2.90 + £1.10 postage for 2 meters.

And this is the faux wool/sherpa fleece I bought, it costed me £10 including shipping and arrived very quickly. The fabric is amazing quality, exactly what I needed. I ordered 1m by 1.5m.

After about 13 hours of working on this thing this is how it turned out:

After finishing with the coat I realised it was a bit stiff and shaped weirdly, so I washed the coat with fabric conditioner. This is a trick I learnt when I had crocheted a shawl that was very stiff, the heat and the conditioner softens up the fabric and allows it to drape nicely.

I hope you found this an interesting post and also that maybe it might give you some hope if you happen to ever be in this situation, which I honestly hope you don't have to experience.

Bodyline shoes s526 review

I finally ordered my first lolita shoes, I got them from bodyline. And I got these in pink, http://bodyline.co.jp/en/s526.html

I've adored these shoes for a really long time, maybe a year, but they were always out of stock in my size. I have really big feet, I'm a UK size 9 and I'm average height, so I was cautious about purchasing shoes from Japan because they usually tend to sell small sizes in clothing and shoes.

Bodyline has two listings for this shoe, theres this one: http://bodyline.co.jp/en/shoes192.html

And the one that I ordered which only comes in gold, red and pink:http://bodyline.co.jp/en/s526.html

The first listing is usually sold out on larger or medium sizes so check the listing that I used if you want to. But this does limit you to only three colours.

Anyways, lets get to the review. Usually my bodyline packages get to me exactly two weeks after ordering, however this time it was held up by customs and it was delayed by roughly two weeks AND I had to pick it up and pay a fee of £13(; ̄ェ ̄)so be aware that this can happen if you order from Japan.

But my order finally got to me safe ad sound, my first impression was that they are freaking beautiful. Exactly how I wanted them to be, the stitching is of a good quality, everything is made neatly.

Sorry about the bad lighting in my photos, the weather has been really bad and it's quite dark.

Oops excuse my finger :/

As you can see there is a little bit of adhesive left of the middle of the bow, but I easily wiped it away with a wet cloth.

The shoe feels sturdy and strong, as soon as I got them home I rubbed a thin layer of Lord Sheraton balsam into them because I've heard that bodyline shoes can get marked up quite easily. I've never used the balsam on anything before so I can't tell you how good it is yet.

The shoe sizing was perfect, there's a little bit of space so that your feet don't get squished. I ordered a size 270 and I measured my feet to be exactly 27cm, which gave me more doubts when ordering but it was fine.

With bodyline shoes the sizing is listed according to foot length when standing, eg. Size 250 is for people who have feet that are 25cm. To measure your feet you should stand on paper and trace around your foot and then measure the tracing for the most accurate measurement at home.

The shoes feel reasonably comfortable for heels, they are smallish/medium sized heels, but I guess it depends on what your used to (I never wear heels to be honest). So for me they do feel a bit uncomfortable when I walk around but  they're okay. I haven't had the chance to wear them outside yet, I'll most likely update this post when I do. The sole has some cushioning for the ball of your foot and your heel which does improve comfort.

The price of the shoes was reasonable too, I purchase them in yen which including tax came up to about £28 and I got free shipping by airmail, which is pretty good from my experience.

Overall I give these shoes a 9/10
They're reasonably comfortable, they're pretty and they're well-made. I'm so glad that someone sells cute shoes in large sizes, thank the Gods!! Haha I'll definetly buy shoes from bodyline again

* UPDATE *

So I had a chance to try out these shoes, I went shopping so l was walking for most of the day. I found that after a few hours my feet became very painful, when I arrived home I could barely walk the balls of my feet hurt really bad and so did my toes. I'm writing this three days after wearing them and they still hurt a bit. l did see that in other reviews people said that they were comfortable and you could walk around in them for hours so maybe it's just because I'm not used to wearing heels (l always wear flats or very low heels). But I would recommend only wearing them for short periods of time and to travel by car when wearing them to minimise the amount of walking you do.

I hope you found this review helpful

Bodyline review

I've ordered from Bodyline twice in the past, this time I decided to order my first lolita dress which I've been extremely excited about (⌒▽⌒) I also ordered a purple seifuku and a Chinese dress, the reason I decided to make a review is because although there are many Bodyline reviews  out there I couldn't find a single review of their Chinese dress.

The shipping of my order took
I ordered through airmail because it was free at the time I ordered and I usually avoid paying for shipping just in case the things I order don't fit so I don't want to accidentally waste a lot of money.

Here is the dress I ordered, it's Bodyline's balloon bears in mint which I love so much it's so pretty ♥‿♥

I ordered it in the biggest size they had which is a little smaller than my measurements, it fits better than I expected although my boobs are a bit squished in it. The arm holes were quite tight so I took out the elastic and put a longer elastic back in.

Here is the seifuku I ordered in purple.

I actually wanted to buy one of the seifukus in the image below, but I already own a Bodyline seifuku in navy which had a large top but the waist band was a bit too tight. The seifukus in the image below  have smaller measurements than the seifuku I own so I decided to get a plain purple one in 6L, which I'll probably make a pink bow for later on.

The seifuku fits very well.

I suggest that if you buy a bodyline seifuku that you measure your waist and order the set that has the more comfortable skirt size. And then you can just alter the top by taking in the sides which is really easy, however this does depend on your body type.

And finally this is the China dress in blue, I ordered a size 48 which is a little bigger than my size. I decided to go for a larger size because I was worried that it might not fit, and since I can sew having a bigger size would not be a problem for me.

Excuse the crappy photo, I had to use a timer on my phone and I wasn't ready for the pic :/

As you can see the Chinese dress in the image (which I ordered) was long, but rather annoyingly they sent me a really short one that just about covers my butt. I checked Bodyline's website, and they don't even have this print in short. So i have no idea what that's about...

I contacted Bodyline about this and I am yet to get a response, I previously contacted them and got a reply within the next day. But now I've been waiting for a week...

The Chinese dress fit well over my bust and hips, but for some reason the shape assumes that you don't have a bottom because the measurement doesn't increase from the hip. So I had to cut the sides open about 10cm more and re-hem it. If your bottom or thighs measure more than your hips, then go for a size bigger.

I hope this review was helpful and that you enjoyed reading it, good luck for any future Bodyline purchases you make
