DIY cat cosplay

In this tutorial I will show you how to make a few simple accessories that can be used for general cat cosplay or can be altered for a specific cosplay.

First cat ears!

You will need:
Felt for the inside of the ear
Soft fabric for the outside
Paper and pen
Scissors
Two hairclips
Needle and thread

Start by drawing your cat ear shape and cut it out.

Trace the shape onto your fabric twice and cut it.

Sew along the edge as shown but leave the bottom open.

Turn it inside out and you shouldhave this.

Fold in half and sew along the open edge at the bottom, you can sew the folded end inwards as I did to give it a better shape.

From the opening it should look like this.

Sew or glue on a hairclip onto the bottom.

You can also add a ribbon to cover the seam and make it look a little cuter.

Now the cat collar choker:

You will need:
Wide velvet ribbon
Two strips of thinner ribbon long enough for you to tie
A bell
A candle
Lighter
Scissors
A needle and thread

First cut a length of velvet ribbon about a cm less than your neck measurement. Also cut a length about 4inches long. And cut another piece long enough to wrap around the neck length ribbon vertically.

Light a candle and use it to melt all of the ribbon ends this stops them from fraying.

Mark the neck length ribbon in the center. Fold the 4inch ribbon in half and sew along the edge.

Fold halfway between the fold and the edge so that the seam is moved to the middle.
Place the ribbon over the neck length ribbon so that the centers are matched.

Sew threw both centers.

Wrap the shortest piece of ribbon vertically around the center of the choker. Sew the ends closed at the back.

It should now look like a bow.

Sew the bell onto the bottom of the bow in the middle.

Take your ribbon of a smaller width and sew it on to either end of the choker, this enables you to tie it closed at the back.

This is the finished product I hope you found this post helpful, thanks for reading! ^ - ^

Hyper Japan post #1

On the 25th of July I went to Earls court in London for Hyper Japan the UK's biggest J-culture event!

I wore a blue polkadot shirt with peterpan collar from Primark, my petticoat from eBay and the corset that I made myself. Along with my tiger backpack ofcourse ^o^

The event is carried over three days and features on stage performances of varying interests, from fashion to music to  cooking and martial arts. There were a lot of stalls with lolita/fairykei fashion items, and a lot of people were dressed up in j-fashion or cosplay. It was so awesome meeting people in London who liked the same things as I do and dressed similarly to me ^ - ^

Here are some photos that I took when I checked out the stalls.

This is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's original Ponponpon costume which was flown to the venue all the way from Japan!

This stand was selling really cute jewelry that was made with paper origami stars. Their business cards were super cute too so check them out!

I tried mango flavoured shaved ice from a stall called Niceice and it tasted quite good.

Here are pics of the things I brought home from Hyper Japan

Hope you enjoyed this post, and if you haven't already done so, check out Hyper Japan. And stay tuned for another post about fashion at Hyper Japan ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
